Dear Parent of an Awesome Volleyball Player, J

The WMCAA is putting together a Girls’ Varsity volleyball team that will be attending the Home School National Volleyball Tournament in November.  The tournament is held in Bellevue, Nebraska November 2-4, 2006.  The team will be practicing once a week throughout the summer on Tuesday’s at the HSB from 3:30-5:30 pm and periodically on Thursday’s (on our sand court at our home).  We are also planning to attend 2 tournaments in September and October to help us prepare for Nationals.

 The cost for the tournament will be as follows:

     Registration:  $445.00 (To be paid by the WMCAA)
     Hotel/Gas:    $200.00/per girl for hotel, gas, and car rental
              (To be paid by each individual player – plus their own spending money)

We are looking at the options of fundraising to raise the $200/per girl.

The commitment for each girl to this team is very important.  Attending practices and working together as a team is crucial for this tournament.  There are a lot of resources and time being put into this event.  The Home School Building is costing us $50/week to rent which is why commitment to this is so important.  I do realize that this is summer and vacations, camps, etc. will come up during the practice times.  However, the commitment to the practices is a MUST in order for this to be successful.  Therefore, I am requesting a $50 deposit, which is non-refundable but will be applied to the $200.00 cost.  Also, we are asking each girl as well as their parents sign the attached Letter of Commitment assuring me their dedication to this tournament.  This needs to be turned in or mailed to me before they will be invited to join the team.

I believe this tournament will be an excellent experience for each girl as well as a very memorable time for this team.  I really look forward to seeing this team develop and the anticipation of such a big tournament as Nationals.

Refund policy for team sports:
     Before practice starts - full refund;
     after 1st day - 75%;
     after 1st week - 50%;
     after 2nd week or 1st game (whichever comes first) - no refund
