W.M.C.A.A. Fund Raising Policy
Do you like organized fund raising? Selling what someone else picks for you, being "required" to raise a minimum amount, "hitting up" all those friends, family and loved ones. No? most people don't enjoy it. After declining participation over the past years, the WMCAA has placed "fund raising" back in your "court" (no pun intended - okay it was).
The WMCAA will not be endorsing or requiring a specific fund raiser event this year. We have pulled together some ideas to help you raise your own funds if you choose. If you don't like fund raising and would rather just pay the fees - it's your choice. See some ideas below.
Please email info@wmcaa.org if you have additional fund raising ideas for us to post on this site. Give us your success stories and maybe even ones to avoid.
W.M.C.A.A. Fund Raising Ideas
Common methods: (Write a letter to your friends and family letting them know you are trying to earn money for a sports season or event. Ask them if they have jobs you can do to earn money. That way you can meet their specific needs AND earn some money. Be sure to let them know what you are working for, it may help them to be more generous.)
Babysitting
Mowing Lawns (This can be a summer long activity that could pay for your whole season or event.)
Raking Leaves
Yard work (gardening, weeding, side walk trimming, etc)
Cleaning peoples houses
Pop can drive in your neighborhood

Make baked goods, cookies, breads or other items to sell to family, friends and neighbors (even a lemonade stand would be "cool")

ALWAYS be sure to tell people why you are trying to earn money, if people believe in your cause, they will often make an extra effort to help.
