W.M.C.A.A. Statement of Purpose
 

The WMCAA is a non-profit organization.

Our Mission is to provide a physically beneficial and spiritually healthy sports environment for West Michigan area youth.

We Believe that God has created within all of us the desire to play and learn. These desires are good and should be fulfilled in a God-honoring way.

Therefore, as an association, we will work hard to pursue the following goals in our program:

• Build character through hard work, team play, and excellent sportsmanship

• Create new friendships

• Promote physical fitness

• Build self-confidence as the players learn and practice new skills

• Help players learn and appreciate the importance of teamwork.

What We Offer

We offer an established, self-governing, family-friendly sports program.  We are committed to:

• Holding practices no more than 3 days a week for younger students,

• Keeping our registration costs affordable,

• And, most importantly, keeping our focus on Jesus Christ.

We are open to all children, regardless of what school they attend (home schooled, private, Christian schools, etc.)

To become a member of the WMCAA, parents are strongly encouraged to attend an information night where you can find out more about our association, ask questions, and meet the board of directors. Phone numbers and names are taken at this time. Players and parents are required to sign a contract agreeing to the parent and player code of ethics. Those interested in coaching must go before a panel for approval. To supplement our operating costs and pay for equipment, fundraising may be required.

Our Statement of Faith

We believe in a personal, Eternal God as the Creator of all things.

We believe that we are created in God’s image; therefore we owe him our deepest love and respect.

We believe that human nature fell into sin, is sinful, and is in need of a Savior.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Divine Son; sent to this world to save sinners.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is fully God, and dwells within all those who believe in Christ Jesus.

We believe that all of life is to be lived for the glory of God, including our play.
